You've reserved your puppy -- now its time to get ready!

Take Home Prep

There are a million puppy items in stores, online and more.

We like to recommend the things we use the most and that will make your first few days at home easier.

Here are a few things we don't like to go without.

If you'd like some of our other favorite treats, toys or more we can send you more!

Dog Bowls

We recommend ceramic dog bowls.

Plastic and Metal dog bowls can harbor bacteria as well as cause tear and face stains.

There are a million varieties of ceramic bowls online.

Amazon has super cute options like the ones we have in the picture.

Puppy Food

When it comes to puppy food you're going to find a million different opinions and suggestions.

We love Purina Pro Plan. We start all of our pups out on this.

You're welcome to switch puppy foods.

Your vet can help give you some options as well.

Wet Puppy Food

We don't typically feed wet food.

However, Puppies can be nervous when they switch homes. We recommend having wet food on hand for the few day or two incase your pup is nervous and doesn't want to eat as they usually do.

Training Treats

We're huge fans of positive training.

Rewarding your pup when they do something right is the best way to begin training once you take them home.

If they listen, treat them.

If they potty outside, treat them.

If they go in the crate with out fuss, treat them.

If they sleep all night, treat them.

We have a bunch of treats we personally love, but this is the one treat that ALL puppies love!

Dog Bed/Couch

Every time we share videos of our personal dogs we get messages about our dog couch!

Our pups love this beds. Its comfy and washable! It comes in a variety of sizes!

Play Pen

The biggest mistake families make when taking a puppy home -- is letting them roam the house.

A puppy does not need freedom in your house. A play pen/puppy area is a must for puppies until they're trained. There are a bunch of options, you do not have to have this one!

Nuti-Cal

If you're purchasing a Toy or Mini puppy,

Nutri-Cal is an amazing product to keep on hand.

Hypoglycemia can be serious in toy and mini breeds. Nutri-cal can help prevent issues in small pups until they're over 5 lbs.

Snuggle Puppy

Your puppy has been started on crate training and doing well, but when they go home crate training might be stressful.

We love the snuggle puppy. It has a heart beat that matches their siblings whom they're use to being crated at night with.

Dog Crate

Crate training is essential to having an amazingly trained puppy. Your puppy has been introduced/started on crate training.

This training needs to continue at home.

If you'd like advice or how we crate train you can ask us anytime :)

Probiotics

We highly recommend keeping your pup on a probiotic!

Toy's

Toy's are a must! Squeaky toys, crinkle toys, soft toys, and of course a ball to play fetch. There are a million different options.

My favorite advice to give is check out the puppy sections at Burkes, Bealls or other similar stores.

Our Bealls stores in Sulphur Springs, Texas the best puppy sectional for toys and dog beds. You can get name brand toys for a fraction of the price they're normally sold for! :)
